This Project Study Report/Project Development Support (PSR/PDS) was prepared to identity viable project scheme and alternatives to replace the existing Lost Hills Road Overcrossing. The purpose of the project is to improve the Lost Hills Road and US-101 Freeway interchange traffic operations. These improvements addressed operational, traffic, and safety needs. The existing Lost Hills Road Overcrossing was considered for total replacement due to the closely spaced intersections in the vicinity of the overcrossing and relatively high intersecting traffic volumes. The proposed improvements increased roadway widths for the better lane arrangements.

In addition to the bridge inadequacies the existing US-101 northbound and southbound ramps did not meet design standards as well as the current and future traffic demands. The interchange improvements addressed the immediate and future needs of the City of Calabasas, County of Los Angeles and State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 7.
